What you might wonder. Answered here.
Common questions about how Guider works, what it can control, and your account.
What is the difference between Guide and Agent?
Guide explains screenshots you share and can point to relevant areas with its companion cursor. It does not operate your computer. Agent is a separate mode that you start yourself; it carries out the task you give it using Codex tools and, when needed, desktop controls.
Can Guider take actions on my computer by itself?
Guide only explains what is on screen; it does not use your computer. Agent runs only after you start it and provide a task. Its default permission setting asks before actions; you can choose optional Full access in Settings.
Which account do I connect to use Guider?
Connect your ChatGPT/Codex account in Settings. Guide and Agent share this connection, your selected model, and reasoning setting. You do not need a separate provider API key.
Do I have to use voice?
No. You can send requests by text. If you prefer, install local voice models in Settings to use push-to-talk and hear replies aloud.
How are chat history and memory managed?
You can open, continue, or delete session history. User memory is stored on your device; in Settings, you can manage or delete its records, or turn memory off.
What is OpenGuider?
OpenGuider is Guider's completely free, open-source edition. Explore its source code on GitHub and contribute to the project.
When will Guider be released, and will it be paid?
There is no confirmed release date or pricing information yet. Follow Guider's announcement channels for updates.
